Richard Kennerley – CEO and NED
Richards expertise is in Banking & Finance. He is an experienced leader and non exec director focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions, Succession Planning and Turnarounds.
Richard is a corporate banker by background, with a highly successful UK career heading up structured finance teams and working closely with private equity as a key stakeholder. He was Managing Director of NAB Europe Corporate and Structured Finance team which focused on FTSE 250 corporates and M&A/Exit deals via Private Equity, IPOs etc.
Richard relocated to Australia from the UK in 2010 to assume the role of State General Manager for National Australia Bank QLD (2500 FTE, $30BN balance sheet, multi $BN P&L). This role was also the CEO representative at a state level. During this time he was the Chair of the State Leadership Team and strategically directed and led the Asia Business Banking strategy for NAB at a Group level
Richard possesses a wealth of experience of start ups and transformations (and rationalisations) in the financial services, gaming/leisure, sporting and SME sector. He was the Executive Chairman of a QLD based SME ($50M T/O; $5M EBITDA) in the digital sector and worked with the founders on an expansion – and ultimately Succession/Exit – strategy (via Private Equity and acquisitions) after they had been in the business for 20 years.
Richard is the CEO of Rapid Securities Limited together with being a Director of the Brisbane Broncos Leagues Club; appointed by the Football Club board to re-structure and re-finance the business. He is also Non Exec Director of Holy Cross Laundry (Mater Group) and was recently invited to join the board of Queensland Country Credit Union as it gears up for additional rationalisation and resultant merger opportunities, particularly the short term merger with Queenslander Credit Union.
